Most Illustrious Companion Godfrey Onyemaobi

was born in Nigeria – West Africa where he had his university education and graduated with a B.Sc. in Media Communications and a Masters in International Relations and Strategic Studies. He worked with Index Media, an advert media outfit and was tasked with delivering high-performance brand strategy, sales growth, customer insight and overall brand equity for various outfits. A job he did admirably.

Coming from an active political family, he participated in Politics and got elected to his
State’s Assembly in 1991, serving as Minority Chief Whip and also serving in various
Committees. His main focus was making Laws protecting the Rights of Women and
Children amongst others.

At the end of his tenure, he returned to his original passion, advertising and Public Relations, working briefly with the National Orientation Agency and the Daily Star Newspapers and as a consultant on media advertising for various major brands. He did this
with passion till 2000 when he migrated to Canada and got into the Information Technology field specializing in Cyber Security and Network Administration.

He owns his business and provides remote and on-site IT support to many firms and organizations worldwide. His hobbies include playing Chess, listening to music, esoteric studies and reading. He has two sons and is actively involved in Freemasonry.

Masonic History:

 He began his Masonic journey in Nigeria where he got his three Craft Degrees in Lodge
Meridian No. 1742 on the Roll of the Grand Lodge of Scotland – District Grand Lodge of
Nigeria in 1992, now No. 34 Under the Grand Lodge of Nigeria. In 2001 he affiliated with
Burrard Lodge No. 50 Grand Lodge of British Columbia and Yukon, serving as WM. He
also served as Secretary between 2017 and 2023. In 2013 he was appointed Grand
Pursuivant of the Grand Lodge of BC &Y.

He served as 1 st Principal of North Vancouver – King Solomon Chapter No. 16 and was
appointed Grand Superintendent of District No.7 in 2010. In 2016, he was elected as Grand
First Principal of the Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons of BC &Y; in 2017, he was
installed as President of the BC & Yukon Order of High Priesthood.

He served as the Thrice Illustrious Master of Zaphon Council No. 8 Cryptic Rite
Masons Royal and Select Masters of Western Canada in 2009 and was appointed as
Grand Steward of the Grand Council in 2010 and was elected as Grand Inspector General of
BC Lower Mainland District in 2013. He was installed as the Grand Master of the Grand
Council Cryptic Rite Masons of Western Canada Royal and Select Masters in May 2024. He
is currently a member of Zarthan Council No. 7 as his original Council turned in their Charter
in 2023 where he served as its Recorder for 15 years.

 He presided over Capilano River Lodge No. 8 Royal Ark Mariners in 2009 as Worthy
Master and was installed as Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners of
Western Canada in May 2024.

He was the Presiding Preceptor of Jordan Preceptory No.76 (now a member of Columbia
Preceptory No. 34) Sovereign Great Priory of Canada – Knight Templars in 2009 & 2010.
Appointed Grand Captain of the Guard in 2013 and is currently the Grand Sub Marshal.

He was the Puissant Sovereign of Royal City Conclave No. 22- Red Cross of
Constantine – Grand Imperial Conclave of Canada in 2018.

He presided over Dogwood Council No.171 Allied Masonic Degrees of Canada (AMD)
as Sovereign Master from 2009 to 2011 & appointed Grand Director of Ceremonies in
2014.

He presided over B.C & Yukon Conclave No.7- Order of the Secret Monitor as
Supreme Ruler in 2012. Appointed Grand Bow Bearer in 2014 and as Grand Visitor
Canada West in 2018.

He presided over Lumen Terrestris College – Societas Rosicrusiana in Anglia (S.R.I.A)
as Celebrant from 2011 to 2014.

He served as Governor of British Columbia College No. 44 York Rite Sovereign College of

and Order of Holy Wisdom – Grand College of England as Eminent High Priest in 2022.

He belongs to The Knights of the York Cross of Honour (KYCH) Priory No. 67 and has two
Quadrants (Red and Purple) as a Knight York Grand Cross. He has been serving as the
Recorder since 2011.

Jerry W. Kopp

Biography

Companion Kopp was born, raised and educated in Loon Lake, Saskatchewan and he is the eldest son of the late Erwin and Helga Kopp, who were refugees in 1939 from Sudetenland, Czechoslovakia.  While attending school he worked at several jobs after school and during the summer as grocery delivery, garage handyman, butcher shop and carpenter and in his spare played hockey, football, softball, hunting and golf.  At the age of 22 years, he joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and was posted to various postings throughout Alberta.  He spent most of his policing in rural Alberta and had specialized for 12 years in Protective Policing which included being a fully trained a Security Consultant, Explosive Technician, VIP Security and Division Emergency Planning Coordinator.  He retired on November 1, 2000, from Gleichen RCMP Detachment after having accumulated 10 years of service there. Three years as a young Constable (1974) and returning (1994) as the Detachment Commander at the rank of Sergeant .  Jerry had been married and has two adult
children, daughter Colleen and son Patrick, both school teachers, along with three grand-children; Peiten-Rose, Ever and William.  Immediately after his retirement he was hired by the Grand Lodge of Alberta as the Grand Secretary for 15 ½ years.  He served another 10 years in a similar capacity of Secretary with the Grand Council of Cryptic Rite Masons of Western Canada Royal and Select Masters and the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Alberta.  Jerry lives in Calgary with a lovely lady Marie Matzhold, who he met in Victoria, BC 100 years ago. Marie’s transition from mountain life to prairie living was initially a culture shock, but with patience and care, Jerry has helped Marie to appreciate enjoying full “red-necked Albertan” status.

Companion Kopp was initiated in 1977 in Gleichen Lodge #36 and has served as Worshipful Master five times, affiliated in 1990 with Strathmore Lodge #53 and was their Worshipful Master on four occasions. In 1996-1997 he was elected as District Deputy Grand Master of Dinosaur District.  He joined Royal Arch Masonry in1991 Strathmore Chapter #21, Zadok Council #3 in 1996, invited into Chinook City Conclave #29 in 1998.  With Royal Arch Masonry he was elevated to the position of First Principal in Strathmore Chapter #21 and Eheyeh Chapter #27 in Drumheller and in 2011 elevated to Grand First Principal of the Grand Chapter of Alberta.  While Grand First Principal he was elected and served as President of the Conference of Grand Secretaries of North America closing out his year in 2012 with the conference at Atlanta, Georgia.  He is also a member of the Acre Preceptory #66, Diversity College #202 and Wild Rose Conclave #37 in Lethbridge, Alberta.  He is currently the Deputy Grand Governor Alberta for the York Rite Sovereign College of North America and the Grand Senior General for the Grand Imperial Conclave of Canada.
